Little Ross - Meikle Pinnacle

Despite the calm seas and spring like sunshine, it seemed I had the Solway to myself for the day for my first paddle of 2010. Launching from Brighouse Bay, the light easterly dropped away to leave only the gentle swell rolling in from the south.
An early morning hazy view of Little Ross, across the Devil's Thrashing Floor, from Gull Craig.
The cliffs beyond Ringdoo Point.
Across the Solway, the lake district fells drifted in and out of the haze.
Later, the gentle swell provided excitement in narrow channels, some new scratches to the hull the price paid for a few poorly timed 'hops'.
The striking cliffs of Slack Heugh...
...and a beautiful sunset to end a remarkable February day.
