Isle of Noss

Another relatively short trip but one packed with interest and not necessarily without its share of excitement if there is an easterly swell.
The channel seperating Noss and Cradle Holm...
...negotiating the shallow, boulder filled passage.
Common seals look on as we exit the channel on to the east coast...
...to find the skies filled with gannets...
...and many more on the ledges below.
Whilst the suggested route in The Northern Isles guide is clockwise,  paddling anticlockwise is arguably preferable, especially in the early afternoon, in that this provides the best view of the huge cliffs with the light still catching the Noup of Noss in particular.
