Solitude in Snowdonia

A rather late start in a quiet corner of Snowdonia gave the best of the day in splendid solitude high above Conwy Bay.
The broad ridge and sunlit west flank of Yr Elen, the western outpost of Carnedd Llewelyn.
The Menai Strait and Anglesey from a rather different perspective, for me at least, beyond the distinctive dome of Moel Wnion.
Wreaths of mist on the craggy shoulder of Yr Elen.
Yr Elen and Carnedd Dafydd, the gullies known as the Black Ladders between the two.
Alpenglow on the triple ridged north west flank of Carnedd Dafydd.
Sunset above Elidir Fawr.
Last light above the Lleyn Peninsula and time to complete the descent from the lonely little summit of Drosgl.

Thanks Ian - it was a stunning day, the walk up being much easier than either the spelling or pronounciation of the mountains' names!
