In Amongst the Ormes

A little tide and a fresh breeze combined to create lively but friendly conditions and a chance to get in amongst the Ormes' caves and rock gardens for a wonderful day's paddling.
Jim, beneath the limestone cliffs of the rather misleadingly named, Little Orme.
The limestone here is part of the Clwyd Limestone band, running from the east coast of Anglesey through to Llangollen; the rock having been shaped quite spectacularly in places...
...and, while there are numerous caves, some are more easily explored once ashore.
Paddling beneath huge boulders on the beach at Porth Dyniewaid...
...and beyond the sea washed limestone platforms...
...before heading on towards Great Orme, enjoying gentle rock hopping, weaving amongst the kelp and exploring every nook and cranny of this unique section of coastline.
