Sunset Surf

With the surf forecast at 1m, we had hoped for a repeat of our evening's surfing off the beach at Crosby back in May...
...Brian heading out to the better waves further off shore.
We all caught a few nice rides early on, but with a rising tide and falling wind, conditions soon dropped off. It seems that the best conditions here are with a F5 westerly about 3hrs before HW Liverpool: at this stage of the tide waves form over the sand bars which wash out as the water level rises. Np tides are better than Sps which make it easier to avoid the Iron Men further up the beach.
By the time I gave Chris the camera to get a few shots, things had dropped off significantly...
...although there was still enough energy in the waves to throw the boat around a bit.
Playing in the waves as the sun sets...
...what better way to end a day?
