Scrambling in Strans Gill

One of those little gems I happened upon quite by accident some years ago, Strans Gill is in fact a three star classic according to the Yorkshire Limestone guide. A description it warrants despite its brevity, the unusual nature of this outing and the easy scrambling making it a delightful route in idyllic surroundings.
For the most part, it is simple scramble through a shallow gorge, though there is a real sting in the tail...
...and there are many places in which a little deviation from the gill bed provides more challenging lines.
The impending corner approaching the end of the route - more serious than its lowly grade might suggest, the moves are off balance and awkward and the consequences of slip serious - it is easily bypassed via a grassy ledge to the right.
