All clear in The Dales

On the back of a wet, windy and frustrating week in the far north it felt good to be on familiar ground, running the broad ridge beyond Beamsley Beacon, the heather still vibrant though there is more than a hint of autumn in the air. Perhaps it is simply the cold northerlies that persist, certainly there has been an unusual clarity to the light in the last few days, particularly so for this time of year.
Looking north into The Dales, the crags of Simon's Seat just visible on the skyline.
