Two Pikes, a Head and a Hill

Dawn runs have become something of the norm of late and while heading out before sunrise requires a degree of motivation on any morning, even those when clear skies beckon, there is something special about being out before the world wakes. Every so often, it is magic, pure and simple.

...with Crag Hill looming in front. But first, the steep climb of Grisedale Pike and on to Hopegill Head.
Sunrise beyond Derwentwater...
...and a wonderful view of the central fells - Scafell on the far right, Bowfell and Esk Pike on the left.
Heading down from Crag Hill and along Scar Crags for our last summit of the morning, Causey Pike. By which time we were almost too late for breakfast. Almost, but not quite.
