And another Lakeland Classic

I'd planned to run both the Ennerdale race and the Kentmere Horsehoe this summer, injury prevented both. But having survived Wasdale and enjoyed the Three Shires, I am keen to complete the Langdale Horseshore, the last of this year's Lakeland Classic fell races.
As has proved to be the case for almost all of these races, the recce was thoroughly daunting. Now I know these fells well enough and I know the trods, though the line from Esk Hause to Ore Gap was a new and interesting experience, so really there shouldn't be any problem. But it's a tough 13 miles and if the clag is down and the wind up, it could turn into an interesting day.
Perfect conditions for a recce - somewhere (off route) on Crinkle Crags.
And a beautiful sunset (totally and deliberately off route) on my return to Wrynose Pass. Just the small matter of the Hodgson Memorial relays then to get through first, before what I'm sure will prove to be a challenging race, one way or another.
