Eels and Eagles

Sadly, eagles are no longer to be found on the fells of Cumbria, the last having died around two years ago. There are plenty of eels. I saw neither, though Eagle Crag looks a likely spot for the former and the normal approach to Eel Crag is boggy enough for the latter. I took an alternative line, traversing from Coledale Hause to join the base of Tower Rdige, which despite appearances from this angle, is an easy if steep ascent.
Nearing the top of Eel Crag, above the only rock step of any significance, this being easily avoided if desired.
And above the steep start to the climb of Eagle Crag...
...before the more interesting upper section, which again proves far easier than appearances might suggest, though no less entertaining for its lack of technical difficulties.
